2012 Acura RDX Preview
2012 Acura RDX
Release Date
A specific release date for the 2012 Acura RDX has not been revealed yet. However, Acura typically debuts brand-new RDX models in the fall. Therefore, the tentative release date for the 2012 RDX is fall of 2011.

Exterior Characteristics
Acura usually debuts major redesigns in a six-year cycle. Because the RDX had a major design overhaul a few years ago, no significant changes are expected for the 2012 model. The 2012 Acura RDX should look virtually identical to the previous year’s model.
Performance Features
If you are thinking about buying the 2012 Acura RDX, you can discern a lot about it by studying the characteristics of previous years’ models. The RDX has always been given fairly good marks for performance; this compact crossover SUV is equipped with turbocharged engines that amp up the power. Reliability is also exceptional, with previous versions of the RDX earning high marks from JD Power and Associates. The RDX has historically come with a four-year/50,000-mile basic warranty; a six-year, 70,000 powertrain warranty is also usually included. In terms of resale value, you can expect the 2012 Acura RDX to fare fairly well and to retain a significant portion of its value.
Safety Features
Like its predecessors, the 2012 Acura RDX should shine in terms of safety. In government crash tests and in tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the luxury compact crossover SUV earned perfect scores across the board. Standard safety equipment is impressive and includes antilock brakes with electronic brake distribution and brake assist, vehicle stability assistance, a rear-view camera and six airbags. The 2012 RDX should also feature super-handling all-wheel drive, or SH-AWD, which makes it a very safe car to navigate on wet, icy, slippery roads.
. The 2012 Acura RDX is expected to stand out from the crowd admirably. As you do your research and shopping, though, there are several other worthy contenders to consider. The Infiniti EX35 and the Audi Q5 are two prime examples. If you are still on the fence, the Volvo XC60 is another car to put near the top of your list. At the end of the day, though, the 2012 Acura RDX’s wide array of great performance, reliability and safety characteristics – along with its style – are sure to win you over.
