Lincoln MKS, MKT, MKZ

The MKS Elite is the creation of carbon-fiber parts and accessories manufacturer Raceskinz, and it goes without saying that there is a liberal amount of the material used in this car. Painted in a pearlescent white, the roof is covered with a carbon-fiber overlay, carbon-fiber-faced custom wheels are found at all four corners, and the exhaust exits through carbon-fiber tips. Continuing the abuse of carbon fiber are the door moldings, mirror and antenna covers, fog light bezels, the rear spoiler, and the diffuser. Inside, the Elite features a dash trim kit, door-panel accents, and a custom rear center console made of—you guessed it—carbon fiber. Ironically, all of this carbon-fiber foolishness adds weight to the already obese MKS.
The Illinois-based Rick Bottom Designs has given the name “Panache” to the 2010 Lincoln MKT it prepared for SEMA this year. The customized crossover glows in Turnin’ Orange paint and rides on chrome wheels that appear to be north of 22. This luxo-barge squats two inches closer to the ground thanks to a lowered suspension that Rick Bottom says will provide a sleeker and sportier look. The door handles, antenna, and rear reflectors have been shaved in an effort to clean up the exterior, while custom-made beltline moldings wrap around the MKT’s waist to accent its bodylines. Interior alterations include the addition of floating armrests and a custom two-tone leather treatment for the dash and door panels. And what would a SEMA car  be without a thumpin’ sound system? There’s one of those, too.
Established in 2004, 3dCarbon has become well known for the slick carbon-fiber styling kits it offers for FoMoCo products. Along with a 2010 Ford Mustang, the carbon-fiber crafters at 3dCarbon also will be displaying a 2010 Lincoln MKZ, which the company, in typical vague blather, says will offer “conservative touches of aerodynamic styling.” While the words conservative and SEMA go together like a BMW M3 and a last-place position in a C/D comparo, the 3dCarbon MKZ does seem to be the most tastefully executed of the Lincoln threesome. The car features a flush-mounted spoiler on the trunk, a roof spoiler above the back window, and chrome moldings across the bottom of each door. A stainless-steel Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system runs to the rear of the car where custom-made dual tips accent the lower valance. A lowered suspension allows a set of five-spoke TSW “Snetterton” 20-inch wheels to tuck under the MKZ for a meaner-looking stance.
